contribute writing

We're always looking for additional writings to spread practice to other educators. We're very informal in how we publish. As long as it's in-line with our values and other pieces (and uses royalty-free images), we're (almost always) down to publish it. Reflections, essays, critiques, project ideas, and more are welcome.

We offer a symbolic gesture of $100 for authors and allow for cross-posting on other pages, although we like exclusivity for whatever time you deem appropriate. If you're interested, simply shoot us a Google Docs file at some point with your idea and/or full writing and we're happy to provide feedback. Length and style do not matter to us; we're happy to showcase your learning.

connect us

Our organization doesn't have a marketing budget; we grow through word of mouth. If you know schools or organizations that could benefit from our work (or just cool folks we should know), please introduce us! You can also share our free resources, podcast, and writings with educators. A great place to start is our Empathy Interview process, where we listen to students and educators to help reshape school practices.

Your support makes a big difference: it helps spread the word about our mission and ensures we can keep doing this important work.

donate & fundraise

We're a small but dedicated team of educators creating open-access resources like articles, videos, and podcasts to support progressive teaching. If you're able, even a modest monthly donation helps sustain our work.

You can also support us by purchasing our union-made, eco-friendly merchandise. Every contribution, big or small, helps spread our mission and keeps our resources accessible to all.

volunteering & employment

We are a small grassroots nonprofit, and due to our limited team size, we do not offer traditional volunteer opportunities. Instead, we focus on fairly compensating our employees and maintaining sustainable growth.

Our Hiring Approach: We intentionally operate as a small team so we can stay flexible and creative in how we support schools. Because of this, job openings are uncommon. However, if you're interested in potential future opportunities, we encourage you to add your name to our employment inquiry form.

Our Workplace Culture: Human Restoration Project is a fully remote organization with team members across the world. We believe in human-centered work practices, including a four-day workweek, asynchronous meetings, and unlimited paid and sick leave.

Equal Opportunity Employer: HRP is an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or any other legally protected status.
